From Koli, in the north of Karelia, you can see the most famous landscape of Finland, the highlands of the ancestral mountain range of the Karelides, famous for its landscape of hills covered with trees. The core of Koli is the national park and the surrounding villages. The design of the coin shows a picture of this Finnish landscape. The photo is the work of Juha-Pekka Järvenpää, while the coin was made by Erkki Vainio (Designer of the Mint of Finland)
